At its AGM, members of the Council of Textile and Fashion Industries of Australia Ltd (TFIA) unanimously voted to continue the current leadership of the TFIA.

Michel Abeysekera the current incumbent accepted his third term as President. In presenting the Annual Report Michel said; ''There is still much to be done and I look forward to further gains in 2013. It has been an absolute honour and privilege to serve as TFIA President over the last two years. It is with satisfaction that we report a strengthened organisation at State, Federal and International level and we have also ensured that the TFIA operations remain sustainable and relevant to the needs of our members.”

Other directors re-elected at the meeting include Sandip Ranjan COO Bruck Textiles, David Giles- Kaye, GM ADA - Parsons Logistik, Joe De Petro MD Defab, Yaron Flicker MD Flickers, Karen Webster RMIT University and John Condilis MD Nobody Jeans.

TFIA President Michel Abeysekera also thanked retiring Director and past President Jim Liaskos who was awarded a TFIA Life Membership for his long and dedicated service to the industry. Jim will continue to serve on the TFIA Executive.

Council of Textile and Fashion Industries of Australia (TFIA) is the peak Australian TCF industry body. It is a member driven non-profit association that was first established in the 1940s to provide an umbrella organisation with a focal point for a number of sector specific associations.
