According to data released by the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (DCUD), Turkey’s output of finished steel products totaled 34.30 million tons in 2012, rising by 7.3% year on year.
Among them, 25.20 million tons were steel long products, increasing by 10.4%; 9 million tons were steel flat products, down by 0.4%, both compared to the figures in a year ago.
Meanwhile, Turkey’s consumption of steel products exceeded 28.4 million tons in 2012, rising by 5.6% year on year, including 13.60 million tons of steel flat products and 14.80 million tons of steel long products.
