Core prompt: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has announced that it has suspended operations at IMO Foods - a federally registered fish

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has announced that it has suspended operations at IMO Foods - a federally registered fish cannery based in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, over food safety concerns.

The agency noted that adequate controls for food safety are not being reliably implemented in the facility on a consistent basis. In addition, the company has failed to correct deficiencies related to pest control.

IMO Foods will not be able to resume operations until they have fully implemented the necessary corrective actions and the CFIA is fully confident in the plant's capacity to effectively manage food safety risks.

CFIA said that it is working to ensure there is no potential risk to consumers. There is no food recall associated with this suspension.
